The AMBA Annual Luncheon will be held on Friday, 12 May 2023 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City, VA.
Each year, AMBA hosts a by-invitation* luncheon in Washington, DC, in conjunction with our spring executive committee meeting, to bring together and to share ideas among our members and partners. This year our Luncheon, in conjunction with the quarterly Military Family Financial Readiness Coalition Roundtable, will be held in person.
Our guest speaker for the luncheon will be Michael Abrams.
Michael joined the Marine Corps shortly after the September 11, 2001 attacks and served on active duty for eight years, which included a deployment to Afghanistan with an infantry company as the artillery forward observer. After leaving active duty, Michael attended New York University’s Stern School of Business graduating with an M.B.A. in finance, with a specialization in entrepreneurship & innovation.
While attending business school, he founded the FourBlock Foundation to help bridge the gap between returning service members and the business community. Under his leadership, FourBlock has expanded to serve several thousand veterans located in dozens of locations throughout the United States and on military installations globally. Michael is currently serving as FourBlock’s President and Executive Director.
He has co-authored two books; Mission Critical: Unlocking the Value of Veterans in the Workforce, and two editions of a military transition guidebook titled Business Networking for Veterans. Michael is also currently serving in the Marine Corps Reserves as the Commanding Officer for 3rd Battalion, 14th Marines. He is the Mayor of his small village in Kinderhook, NY. And he is married to his wife Karen, and father to Olivia and Isabelle.
Prior to the luncheon, AMBA will host the Military Family Financial Readiness Coalition Roundtable discussion in partnership with the Military Family Advisory Network.
