Association of Military Banks of America

2017 May Luncheon

Each year, AMBA hosts a workshop and luncheon in Washington, DC, in conjunction with our Spring board of directors meeting, to bring together and to share ideas among our members and partners.  On 5 May, we held these events at the Pentagon City Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

This year’s Luncheon speaker was Mr. Paul Kantwill, who was recently appointed to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) Office of Servicemember Affairs.  Mr. Kantwill most recently served as director of the Office of Legal Policy in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel & Readiness at the Pentagon.  He joins the CFPB following a distinguished 25-year military career with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, during which he served in Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf.

Instead of the usual Workshop format, we held this financial roundtable discussion with our partners and collaborators who work with service members, veterans, and their families in the financial readiness space.  We discussed how we can all work together more effectively to bring the resources and their intended audiences together.
