The HOPE NOW Alliance is coordinating two single-day mortgage assistance events for homeowners impacted by Hurricane Irma. During these events, homeowners affected by the hurricane, will be able to come in and meet face-to-face with their mortgage servicer or a HUD-approved non-profit counselor and discuss their options for mortgage assistance. Homeowners will learn about next steps on their insurance and receive mortgage assistance for short and long-term hardship.
Homeowners experiencing mortgage difficulties, members of the military and those that may experience financial difficulties in the near future are encouraged to attend.
The first event will be held on Thursday, December 7th at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL from 1pm-8pm. Free parking will be available. The second event will be held on Saturday, December 9th at First Assembly of God Church in Fort Myers, FL from 9am to 3pm. Again, there will be free parking available.
At the events, impacted families will gain information on storm recovery and learn how to avoid delinquency through various mortgage assistance programs, both state and federal.
Each event will have over 15 mortgage servicers, HUD-approved non-profit housing counselors, representatives from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA and HUD, as well as other local resources. The events are free and homeowners are seen on a first-come first-serve basis.
See below links to flyers for both events. Please feel free to share this information with anyone in the affected areas.
