Complying with the Military Lending Act
With recent changes in the regulations implementing the Military Lending Act (“MLA”), creditors are now reevaluating their compliance plans to ensure they are prepared for the new requirements. Although there is not yet any formal guidance on the new MLA rule, the commentary to the amendments, combined with informal discussions and past enforcement actions under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, provide some insight as to where regulators will focus examination and enforcement resources.
