BBB Military Line, since 2004, has provided free resources to our military communities in the areas of financial literacy and consumer protection through the efforts of 113 BBBs across the U.S.
FINRA Investor Education Foundation operates a Military Financial Readiness Program that delivers free, unbiased financial education tools and training to servicemembers, their spouses and on-base financial educators through a variety of programs and public awareness initiatives. A partner in the U.S. Department of Defense Financial Readiness Campaign, the program’s primary goal is to help military families manage their money with confidence. Also, FINRA Foundation operates a website SaveandInvest.org which provides specific information to servicemembers and their families.
Military OneSource eNewsletter – this newsletter updates monthly and brings not only personal and family readiness information to military families, but also an array of other topics. Check back often for new and updated information.
Military Saves is a component of America Saves and a partner in the Department of Defense’s Financial Readiness Campaign. Military Saves is a research-based social marketing campaign to motivate, support, and encourage military families to save money and build wealth.

Money Smart, a program developed by the FDIC, is a comprehensive financial education curriculum designed to help low- and moderate-income individuals outside the financial mainstream enhance their financial skills and create positive banking relationships. Money Smart has reached over 2.75 million consumers since 2001.
Federal Trade Commission
Military Family Resources – members of the armed forces or military families face unique challenges managing finances and personal information. When it comes to some consumer issues, like preventing identity theft, military members have special rights. This website operated by the FTC was designed to help military families face those issues.
Consumer Sentinel: Military – this website is a joint initiative of the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Defense to identify and target consumer protection issues that affect members of the United States Armed Forces and their families. This website also provides a gateway to consumer education materials covering a wide range of consumer protection issues, from auto leasing, to identity theft, to work-at-home scams.
